Solving problems has always been a part of who I am. That may be why I enjoy listening to true crime podcasts. There's a mystery/ problem to solve. This love carries over to my work and have found that designing and developing innovative learning solutions allows me to problem solve on a daily basis. The ADDIE model drives my process, starting with a needs analysis to determine what exactly the problem is and collaborating to find the best solution. Next is the most exciting part, designing and developing the solution to address the problem. Once it is implemented you get to see the outcomes of your work and determine the effectiveness. Call me a nerd, but I love the cyclical nature of the process! It allows you to continuously learn and adjust your process.

I have had the privilege of educating students and adults in the public education system. Throughout my tenure I was a Teacher, Instructional Coach, Assistant Director, and Assistant Principal. As an educator I implemented a process very similar to ADDIE.

When I am not working you can typically find me outdoors. I love hiking, camping, and I am currently attempting to grow a garden. It is not growing much but I am working on it. I also love tacos! I once said I could eat them every day, and a first grader told me "Ms. Garza, you can't eat tacos every day, it's not healthy." Have to love the honesty of children!
